Job Summary

 

As the Quality Engineer at Haskel Europe, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products and processes meet the highest quality standards. You will be part of a dynamic team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to implement quality assurance strategies, drive continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulatory requirements. This role is critical to safeguarding Haskel’s reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to optimise product quality, reduce defects, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, industry regulations, and customer-specific quality requirements. Assist with internal and external audits, and address non-conformances.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers to ensure materials and components meet established quality standards. Conduct supplier audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause investigations for product failures and non-conformances, using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and CAPA. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Address customer complaints and warranty claims related to product quality. Implement solutions to prevent future issues and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyse quality performance data to track key metrics (KPIs) and report on trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement to senior leadership.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and R&D teams to ensure quality is built into the product lifecycle from design to delivery.

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Experience working in the gas, fluid handling, or energy sector.
  • Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high-pressure, precision engineering or similar industry.
  • HNC in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is desirable.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • ISO 9001 auditor is desirable.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

 

Site based in Sunderland with occasional travel as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Key Competencies

 

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards, auditing processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
