Job Summary
This role is responsible for improving business performance through three core pillars: Demand Planning, Inventory Management, and Data Analytics. The position will develop and maintain a reliable demand plan, optimise inventory to balance customer service and working-capital objectives, and translate complex data into clear insights and actions. Working cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Supply Planning teams, the role will strengthen planning discipline, improve forecast quality, reduce inventory risk, and support timely, fact-based decisions.
Responsibilities
- Pillar 1 – Demand Planning
- Lead the demand-planning cycle and develop a rolling 12–18 month demand plan by product family, item, customer, and market as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, and Supply teams to capture market intelligence, promotions, new-product activity, risks, and opportunities.
- Analyse forecast accuracy, bias, demand volatility, backlog, and order trends; identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare demand scenarios and recommendations for the SIOP process, clearly communicating assumptions, gaps, and business impacts.
- Pillar 2 – Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain inventory policies that balance service, availability, working capital, and operational risk.
- Monitor inventory health, including turns, days on hand, excess and obsolete exposure, slow-moving stock, stock-outs, and safety-stock performance.
- Review and maintain ERP planning parameters, including lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, order policies, and planning time fences.
- Coordinate cross-functional actions to reduce excess inventory, prevent shortages, improve material availability, and achieve inventory targets.
- Pillar 3 – Data Analytics
- Create and maintain accurate dashboards and reporting for demand, forecast performance, inventory, service, backlog, and planning execution.
- Analyse large and complex data sets to identify trends, exceptions, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Convert analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and action plans for operational and leadership reviews.
- Improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and planning processes through standardisation, automation, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Demonstrate a strong AI-learning orientation by actively developing knowledge of emerging AI capabilities and identifying relevant applications within demand planning, inventory management, and analytics.
- Use approved AI tools to streamline processes, automate repeatable analysis and reporting, improve decision support, and deliver measurable productivity and quality improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, supply planning, inventory management, or supply chain analytics.
- APICS CPIM certification preferred; candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it within 18 months of employment.
- Experience managing ERP planning systems, MRP processes, item master data, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Experience developing reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics using business intelligence and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, or equivalent).
- Experience utilizing AI-enabled analytical tools and digital technologies to improve planning effectiveness and business decision-making preferred.
- Proven experience driving service level improvements, inventory optimization, and cross-functional supply chain performance initiatives.
