Job Summary
This position, reporting into the Logistics Leader, is within Vignate Logistics organization (Industrial Technologies & Services business unit) and operates within a team dedicated to inbound and outbound freight to serve all business in Vignate Campus (compressors new units and aftermarket).
This position provides comprehensive knowledge in logistics to effectively support international export shipments. Core functions include, but are not limited to: International Logistics Management including implementing corporate strategies for application of transportation provider selection and performance management, export documentation and compliance and letters of credit.
This role will work within a team environment and be responsible for coordinating the daily flow of export and import goods to and from Ingersoll Rand’s distribution and manufacturing locations. The role will assist with controlling transportation expenses through ensuring proper handling and routing of Ingersoll Rand products. Responsibilities include visibility reporting, freight invoice validation, loading planning, order/booking management and implementing value-added export/import logistics initiatives.
This position provides value to the organization by eliminating commercial risks to ensure revenue recognition occurs within a forecasted month while also meeting multiple deadlines and requirements of the customer, factory, and credit department
Responsibilities
- Ensure all sales orders are shipped with the appropriate mode of shipment and export documentation filed with forwarders, steamship lines and that the electronic export information is filed as required for export compliance. Understanding of Incoterms.
- Monitor shipment details to ensure on time delivery.
- Ensure that internal letter of credit guidelines are met while working with deadlines and requirements from the credit manager, factory and letter of credit expiry dates.
- Manage transportation providers for performance issues and rate negotiations and partner with transportation providers to find solutions for unique customer requirements.
- Analyze logistics data to provide year over year process improvements and meet productivity (cost reduction) goals.
- Manage for Daily Improvement (MDI) by completing daily pareto of misses and actively lead problem solving activities via 9-Step and A3 Strategic projects.
- Interface with Freight Forwarders to ensure their service and performance levels are meeting service requirements.
- Coordinate all transportation to ensure timely shipment releases, container pick up from ports to the Ingersoll Rand receiving and outbound to final customer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Logistics or Supply Chain.
- 5 years of experience.
- Understanding of Incoterms and international trade regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft applications with emphasis in Excel (advanced user), Word and Power Point.
- Understanding of Lean concepts, Opex execution (9 steps, A3’s, RIE’s and MDI).
