Job Summary

Vignate Plant is looking for a Financial Controller with manufacturing experience who brings strong analytical capability and sound accounting fundamentals - someone who can move seamlessly between the discipline of accounting and the deeper analysis that drives smarter operational decisions. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting manufacturing operations through cost and variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead), inventory and asset accounting, and month-end close activities. Beyond execution, the role plays a key part in strengthening accounting and costing processes, improving data integrity, and enhancing reporting and internal controls that help move the organization forward. The successful candidate is both a doer and a thinker - comfortable in a plant-based environment, energized by change, and motivated by translating complex manufacturing data into clear, actionable insight. Sitting at the intersection of accounting and financial analysis, this role supports budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting tied directly to production performance. You will be part of the Industrial Controlling team reporting to Vignate Plant Controller in a leading manufacturing facility that produces ETO Engineered solutions as well as MTO/MTS standard series products within EMEIA Compression Systems & Services Business unit.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Month end close coordination: Supervision and control of all month end activities in SAP FI CO and COPA done by dedicated resources of Shared Service center in Brno CZ. Control and validation of expenses and costs by GL account, cost and profit centers. Check and approval of accruals and reserve adjustments, loss and obsolescence, relocation, deferred charges. Controls GL integrity and system processes.

 

  • Recharges of cost and expenses as per relevant IC agreements or purchase orders. Debit and credit note issue.

 

  • Analyze: Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations through flux to provide actionable information for local, division or corporate management. Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems. Support to Account Payable SSC team with proper coding and invoice booking.

 

  • Fiscal part: Support for direct and indirect taxes, tax returns, and ensure compliance with group regulations in partnership with the shared service team. Intrastat preparation and reporting, Transfer pricing calculation and validation. ISTAT reporting. Cooperation on the preparation of income tax statements and supporting any other US GAAP or local statutory requirements.

 

  • Fixed assets. Control of capex investments invoices and proper accounting treatment US GAAP and IT GAAP.

 

  • Compliance and SOX: Maintain and update SOX control activities and processes, ensuring full compliance with internal control requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements, propose enhancements, and support implementation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Cooperation with internal/external auditors.

 

  • Cost Analysis: Conduct analysis on product costs, manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, hours), inventory valuation, capital spending.

 

  • Standard Cost Management: Support in review, update, and maintain standard costs and assist senior management in maintaining a robust business costing system

 

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks, focused on cost optimization and profitability improvements

 

  • System and Process Improvements: Support improvements to ERP configurations and drive efforts to streamline processes, standardize reporting, and implement dashboards

 

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of strong proficiency in SAP FI CO is a must.
  • 3+ years of standard cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience performing product cost analysis and manufacturing variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, and hours).
  • Strong knowledge of Italian accounting & tax regulations and US GAAP.
  • Strong numerical skills, analytical thinking, careful structured approach applying accounting acumen related to a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of internal controls, experience with SOX processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced levels of English and Italian languages.
