We take pride in our craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strong team culture. We are now seeking skilled and motivated Plastic Fabricators to join our workshop team in the Dungarvan area.


 

Position Summary

The Material Handler / Junior Plastic Fabricator plays a key support role within the fabrication team. This position is responsible for preparing raw materials, performing basic fabrication tasks, and ensuring that plastic fabricators have the materials and components needed to complete production efficiently. The role involves hands-on work such as routing, deburring, cutting, organizing, and general prep work within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.


 

Key Responsibilities

Material Preparation & Handling

  • Pull, stage, and prepare raw plastic materials according to job specifications.
  • Cut sheet stock or extrusions to required sizes using basic shop equipment.
  • Maintain organized material storage areas and ensure proper labelling and inventory rotation.
  • Deliver prepared materials to fabrication workstations in a timely manner.

 

Fabrication Support

  • Perform routing, drilling, sanding, and deburring of plastic components as directed.
  • Assist plastic fabricators by completing prep tasks that support workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Operate basic machinery and hand tools safely (routers, sanders, saws, etc.).
  • Ensure accuracy and quality in all prep work based on provided drawings or instructions.

 

Quality & Safety

  • Inspect materials for defects before and after processing.
  • Follow company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE guidelines.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Track completed work and communicate progress or issues to supervisors or fabricators.
  • Assist with loading/unloading materials or finished products when required.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in workflow and material handling.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, plastics, fabrication, or a similar hands‑on role preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read measurements and interpret simple drawings or work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
