The location where Gardner Denver Netherlands is based consists of three dedicated divisions: Elmo Rietschle, Robuschi, and Transport Solutions. We distinguish ourselves through our flexible approach and services to a wide range of industries. Our expertise extends from sales to maintenance and overhaul of various systems and equipment, including pumps, couplings, compressors, and loading arms. This ensures our customers receive reliable and efficient solutions for their business operations.
We strive for excellence in everything we do and value accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement. To strengthen our financial team, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant.

As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key player within the finance department for both the Belgian and Dutch entity and you are extensively involved in an upcoming project to migrate both the Belgian and Dutch entity from SAP B1 to SAP R3. You will be responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and processes. You will ensure correct and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and act as a link between the local accounting team and senior management. In addition, you will provide valuable strategic financial insights and mentor colleagues.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


Financial Administration & Reporting:

Extensively involved in an upcoming project to migrate both the Belgian and Dutch entity from SAP B1 to SAP R3
Responsible for managing the general ledger and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
Independently perform monthly and annual closings and prepare balance sheet specifications and suspense account reconciliations.
Prepare and review periodic financial reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., (US)GAAP/IFRS).
Performing financial analyses, identifying deviations/risks, and reporting to management.

Compliance & Auditing:
Preparing and/or checking tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid correctly and on time.
Supporting internal and external audits by providing the necessary documentation and information in a timely manner.
Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations and internal control processes.
Guidance & Optimization:
Guiding, coaching, and motivating assistant accountants.
Actively contributing to the optimization and digitization of administrative and financial processes.
Act as a point of contact for clients, the accounting firm, and internal/external stakeholders.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least a completed higher professional education (HBO) or university education (WO) degree in Accountancy, Business Economics, or a comparable financial field.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a financial or accounting role, preferably within an accounting firm or international company.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving talent.
  • Accurate, structured working style and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate and lead effectively.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to identify potential for improvement.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English.
  • Experience with modern accounting packages/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Extensive experience in leading ERP projects in the transition to a different version. Experience with SAP is an advantage.
