Job Summary

 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the overall financial management, reporting and compliance activities of the UK business. The role acts as the key liaison between local operations, global finance teams, external advisors and the Shared Service Centre (SSC), ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls and the delivery of financial insight to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

 

Responsibilities

 

The role includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the UK accounting and reporting function, ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate annual audit requirements and support the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Manage UK tax compliance activities including VAT, Corporation Tax, PSA and Employment Related Securities reporting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activities
  • Provide financial insight and business partnering support to operational and commercial stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the UK business and the Shared Service Centre (SSC), resolving accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable issues
  • Collaborate with global finance teams to support US GAAP reporting, group reporting requirements and intercompany processes
  • Oversee working capital management, debtor reviews and cash flow monitoring
  • Maintain relationships with banking partners and manage banking administration activities
  • Review and approve financial transactions, payment runs and master data requests in accordance with internal controls
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems and reporting
  • Manage the annual renewal and review of the Company's insurance portfolio, including Professional Indemnity, Contractors Combined and Employer's Liability policies, coordinating data collection, insurer requirements, broker communications and policy administration
  • Act as a key finance representative in cross-functional meetings with operations, sales, HR and corporate finance teams

 

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • AAT qualified
  • Studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience
  • Experience working within a multinational environment and/or Shared Service Centre structure desirable

  • Commitment to maintaining robust financial controls and compliance standards
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience of ERP & Business Intelligence systems, preferably SAP would be advantageous
