Job & Division Summary

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional to join our dynamic engineering team in Ingersoll Rand Engineering and Technology Centre, Bangalore. This role involves supporting the electrification efforts by leading and executing high-complexity design engineering projects, particularly in the development of material handling equipment for O&G, shipyard and other related industries.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the electrification of products by working with engineering and product management.
  • Lead the design and development for the electrical sub-systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across India and France to ensure alignment with manufacturing, quality and other departments.
  • Apply electrical design principles and perform design calculations to optimize product performance and to ensure high-quality design outputs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant global standards and regulations.
  • Assess the electric products for CE certification and work towards getting them CE certified.
  • Grow the competency of the engineering department in electric products and help towards building a robust and wide electric product portfolio.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, if required.
  • Select all Electrical panel components, Layout, Wiring diagram and work with supplier to optimize the system cost and design.

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ Years of experience with P&ID, Electric Wiring Diagram / Control logics – operational philosophy.
  • Expertise in E-Plan, AutoCAD, Pro Panel or equivalent tools. 3+ Years of hands-on experience required.
  • Proficient in control panel wiring diagrams, internal control and indicating components, switch gear components.
  • Knowledge of CE certifications and ATEX systems.
  • Knowledge on global standards for electric products on compliance and safety.

 

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of Instrumentation drawings – Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheet, Cable Schedule, Cable Lay Out, Hookup Diagrams.
  • Understanding of Cable sizing & layout / Electrical components selection criteria & panel layout.
  • Knowledge of Panels design with Flammable Gas Protection and Safety consideration as per regulation.
  • Capable of accurately estimating product costs from an engineering perspective.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Working experience of designing and understanding pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Creo and Windchill is good to have but not mandatory.
  • Should be able to design for manufacturing having the knowledge about various manufacturing processes.
  • Should be able to handle the projects independently with minimal supervision.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • B. Tech/ M. Tech in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Overall, 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and project management skills.

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

This position is based in Bangalore, India, with a hybrid work arrangement and minimal anticipated travel.
