Job & Division Summary:
Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering support for ETO (Engineer to Order) projects for Ingersoll Rand Products.
Responsibilities
- Electrical and Instrumentation support for Rotating equipment packages for oil and Gas, Chemical Industries.
- Work with global project partners (Europe and other regions) to understand project requirements and deliver electrical and E&I engineering documents, drawings, and datasheets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers to finalize electrical system design, including control panels (UCP/MCC), junction boxes, wiring interfaces, and instrumentation signal integration.
- Support panel and system FAT activities, including electrical checks, wiring verification, and interface validation with field instruments.
- Ensure delivery of projects as committed with very high on time delivery (OTD) and First Pass Yield (FPY).
Industry Experience: Experience in Process Industries, oil & gas, chemical, power plant or other similar industries as an Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer or similar roles.
Mandatory Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply P&IDs to derive electrical loads, motor requirements, instrumentation interfaces, and panel I/O requirements.
- Strong experience in understanding, creating, and modifying electrical engineering documents, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), power and control wiring schematics, and electrical panel drawings/layouts for packaged equipment using AutoCAD/E-plan/equivalent tool.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical calculations, including load calculation, cable sizing, selection of protection devices, and evaluation of motor starting impact on electrical systems.
- Selection and application of motor starting methods and drive solutions, and integration with electrical control panels.
- Experience of field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level), including signal types, electrical hookups, and integration with control panels and PLC I/O.
Desired skills:
- Experience working in Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) or project‑based environments, with exposure to customer‑driven specifications, document lists, and multi‑disciplinary coordination.
- Exposure to electrical control panels (UCPs, MCCs, local panels), including panel layout reviews, wiring interfaces, and coordination with panel manufacturers.
- Familiarity with international electrical and hazardous‑area standards such as IEC, IEEE / ANSI, NFPA (NEC), EN, IS, and ATEX / IECEx.
- Experience reviewing pre‑order and post‑order documents related to electrical and instrumentation equipment, including vendor drawings and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and applicable industrial standards.
- Experience supporting or participating in FAT / SAT, commissioning, or vendor document reviews, including electrical checks, wiring verification, and compliance review with applicable standards and customer specifications.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters / bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mandatory skills. Maximum 6 years of overall work experience.
