Job & Division Summary: 

The IT Applications Developer will support the Ingersoll Rand Enterprise PLM program and associated projects. The goal of this initiative is to deploy PTC Windchill globally, leveraging advanced technologies and tools to drive profitable growth across the company.

This role will contribute to the definition, development, and implementation of best practices for deploying and maintaining various modules of PTC Windchill, along with related engineering applications such as ArborText, and IsoDraw. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Enterprise PLM team, champions in each Strategic Business Unit (SBU), and IT delivery teams to deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategy and vision of Enterprise PLM team on solution design, development and configuration.
  • Collaborate with PLM architect and other IT teams on the definition, planning, modeling, governance, and implementation of PLM capabilities.
  • Help with requirements gathering with business customers for Windchill Implementation projects.
  • Collaborate with development team on application development and integrations with upstream (CAD) and downstream (ERPs) systems & applications.
  • Ensure ownership and accountability to effectively resolve gaps to completion.
  • Lead and support initiatives to minimize support cost and accelerate the delivery of value-added functionality.
  • Work proactively to remove technical debt and security vulnerabilities.
  • Assess new tools and software, perform POCs, and offer recommendations to optimize the Enterprise PLM ecosystem.
  • Provide support in designing & developing scalable, reusable and robust solution frameworks

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of Windchill implementation/customization experience.
    • Strong understanding of Windchill architecture and industrial manufacturing processes.
    • Hands-on experience with Windchill PDMLink/MPMLink customization, configuration, and DB schema.
    • Expertise in workflows, lifecycle management, access control.
    • Experience with CAD data management (Creo, AutoCAD preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AngularJS, Java/J2EE, RESTful/SOAP web services, XML, XSD, XSLT.
    • Experience with JSPs, Servlets, MVC frameworks, and OOP concepts.
    • Unix scripting knowledge: Java/J2EE certifications preferred.
    • Familiarity with Windchill Bulk Migrator is a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
    • BS in Computer Science or related field.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to map business functionality to out-of-the-box features and identify customization needs.
    • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
    • Creativity and critical thinking applied through technical and business acumen

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements 

  • Position will be a hybrid model based out of Chennai or Bangalore with no anticipated travel
