Job & Division Summary: 

The Logistics and Indirect Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers for indirect categories such as services, facilities, IT, engineering support, and logistics. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, efficient processes, and reliable logistics operations to support business continuity, the role manages import and export activities, including customs clearance, documentation, and coordination with freight forwarders and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and timely movement of goods. The resource should be proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership and responsibility for all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Logistics Management
    • Manage domestic and international (import/export) shipments, including coordination with transporters, freight forwarders, and delivery tracking.
    • Handle customs clearance activities, including documentation, HS code verification with invoices, duties, in co-ordination with freight forwarders 
    • Ensure compliance with import/export regulation, and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records for audits and regulatory requirements.
    • Optimize logistics costs and vendor performance while minimizing delays and operational risks.
  • Indirect sourcing management
    • Manage sourcing and procurement of indirect materials and services (e.g., Engineering, facilities, IT, logistics, utilities etc.).
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
    • Conduct cost analysis, negotiations, and contract management to achieve savings and value.
    • Create Purchase Orders (Pos) with applicable taxes based on approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and drive continuous improvement in sourcing strategies and vendor performance.

Mandatory Skills

  • Hands-on experience in supplier negotiations, RFx execution, PR-PO process, supply chain processes and Incoterms.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, Jaggaer or similar) and Microsoft Office tools for procurement and reporting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in independently managing end-to-end domestic and international shipments, including customs clearance and documentation.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supplier evaluation, vendor consolidation, commercial negotiations and contract management across indirect sourcing categories.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyse datasets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or Engineering with 2–3 years of experience in procurement, handling import/export operations, and customs clearance processes, or in a similar role.

 

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Flexible working, Site presence is required for this role. Flexible to work on weekends may be needed on a case-by-case basis to support critical logistics activities, such as shipment handling and customs clearance.
