Job & Division Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Procurement Engineer to join our Bangalore location. This role supports project execution by ensuring supply continuity, competitive pricing, flexibility, quality, and reliable delivery performance across the business. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, and take complete ownership of assigned responsibilities.
This role will work closely with sourcing leaders and cross-functional teams, including global operations, materials, quality, and finance—to align sourcing strategies and daily procurement activities with cost, quality, and delivery goals. The Procurement Engineer plays a key role in supplier management, data analysis, execution of sourcing initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts that deliver value to Ingersoll Rand.
Responsibilities
- Support supplier selection and coordinate sourcing activities in alignment with commodity strategies for Ingersoll Rand’ s Global operations.
- Lead or support negotiations for pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs.
- Execute and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quote (RFQ) processes with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in onboarding and qualifying suppliers in partnership with quality and operations.
- Analyse spends, pricing trends, and purchase variance to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sourcing records and savings trackers to measure performance.
- Support cost reduction, localization, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
- Provide sourcing support to plant teams to quickly resolve escalated supply issues.
- Collaborate with materials, operations, and logistics teams on supplier performance, delivery issues, and corrective actions.
- Support value‑improvement activities such as VAVE or productivity projects (non‑engineering capacity).
- Contribute to supplier performance reviews and follow-up on corrective actions when required.
- Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned.
Mandatory Skills
- 3+ years of Hands-on experience in supplier negotiations, RFx execution, PR-PO process, supply chain processes and Incoterms.
- Hands on experience of using Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems in a global environment.
- Minimum of 3+ years of progressive sourcing experience in a global environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyse datasets.
Desired Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization.
- Handon experience of Supply Chain and Logistics, preferably in global environment
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or supply chain Procurement, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Procurement, or Supply Chain Management, preferably in direct materials sourcing.
