Job & Division Summary:
Provide technical expertise to product development teams through the application of engineering simulation to support the design, analysis, and testing of new and existing products. Simulation tools may include Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD), One-Dimensional Analysis (1D), and other analytical methods. Simulation expertise will be applied across a variety of mechanical and power products. Review analysis and test results, identify opportunities for design improvement or root causes of failure, and collaborate with product development teams to develop effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform FEA on various mechanical components and systems to evaluate structural integrity, stress distribution, deformation, vibration characteristics, and failure modes.
- Utilize strong knowledge of solid mechanics principles to accurately model and simulate real-world engineering problems.
- Improve the mechanical calculation discipline and enhance existing analysis methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Validate FEA results through comparison with experimental data, analytical calculations, and established engineering standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of simulations.
- Carry out hand calculations and develop 1-D analysis tools to improve engineering productivity and support design decisions.
- Lead FEA projects independently from problem definition through final recommendations, providing technical direction and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality simulation results.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, promoting best practices in simulation methodologies, model development, result validation, and engineering problem-solving.
- Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, management, and external vendors.
Mandatory Requirements
- Ability to perform linear and non-linear static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis using Ansys Workbench.
- Demonstrated ability to lead simulation projects independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in using tools auch as Spaceclaim and Ansys Mechanical.
- Rigorous knowledge of Solid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, and structural analysis principles.
Desired Skills
- Good working knowledge of vibration analysis
- Experience in scripting and automation within the Ansys Discovery and Workbench platforms is highly desirable.
- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop automated workflows, improve simulation efficiency, and enhance engineering productivity
- Knowledge of GT Suite, Python or MATLAB programming is an added advantage.
- Preferred experience in the analysis and design of air compressor components and systems.
Education Qualifications
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering required; Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position is based in Bangalore, India, with a hybrid work arrangement and minimal anticipated travel.
