Job & Division Summary:
Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Precision Technologies Bangalore team, responsible for delivering key engineering solutions for the Milton Roy product portfolio.
The Senior Engineer will be part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for innovating, improving, developing, troubleshooting, and qualifying new products. This role carries intermediate-level responsibility for the mechanical and hydraulic design of the Milton Roy product line, including systems, sub-systems, and components aligned with business strategic objectives.
This position spans the full product development lifecycle—from conceptual design, modeling, and prototyping to validation testing, documentation, and production implementation.
Responsibilities
- Own and independently handle mechanical/hydraulic design responsibilities for assigned systems or subsystems involving innovation, safety, quality, cost reduction, and manufacturability.
- Design and develop functional samples and prototypes; evaluate and refine designs through analytical and experimental methods.
- Develop system architectures, CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Create and execute test plans; analyse test data and prepare comprehensive engineering reports.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, including project, product, and production managers.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise across teams.
Mandatory Skills
- - Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic engineering principles.
- - Experience with engineering design, testing, simulation tools, and laboratory equipment.
- - Proficiency in developing complex engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Experience with injection-molded plastic part design, including collaboration with third-party molders for troubleshooting and optimization.
- - Ability to independently make sound technical decisions and own design deliverables.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- - Demonstrated effectiveness in a cross-functional, multinational work environment.
- Apply advanced technologies and engineering principles to enhance product performance and customer value.
Desired skills:
- - Experience with positive displacement, split case, end suction, ANSI pumps, or related pump technologies.
- Strong business acumen, with understanding of applications, customers, and markets.
- - Estimate and manage product/component cost standards through the development cycle.
- Ensure designs and layouts comply with applicable regulatory standards, internal requirements, and third-party certifications.
- - Generate performance curves, mechanical/hydraulic data plots, and other technical documentation.
- - Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise across teams.
Basic Qualifications
Experience:-
- Masters / bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid dynamics or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in mechanical and/or hydraulic design and development, preferably in pumps, motors, controls, or related industries.
