Job Summary

The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the rental sales strategy for air compressors across the country. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective leadership, business development, and operational excellence. The position requires strong technical knowledge, proven sales expertise, and the ability to manage a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy
    • Develop and implement a national sales strategy for compressor rentals aligned with business objectives.
    • Set clear targets and KPIs for regional teams to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and growth goals.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead, coach, and motivate the rental sales team to deliver exceptional performance.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
    • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders.

 

  • Customer Engagement
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and tailored solutions.
    • Oversee major accounts and strategic negotiations to secure long-term partnerships.
  • Proposal & Pricing Management
    • Review and approve proposals, quotations, and pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
    • Monitor margin performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior management.
  • Compliance & Operational Excellence
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and ethical practices.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and enhance customer experience.

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience Required
    • 8–12 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within industrial equipment rentals (preferably air compressors).
    • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets at a national level.
    • Strong technical understanding of compressor systems and rental operations.
  • Education
    • Grade 12 (Essential).
    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (Preferred).
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication abilities.
    • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
