Job Summary:

Responsible for design of development of new products from concept to prototype stage and thereon to Production. Also responsible for supporting the product line managers in the sustenance of existing products and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for core design activities including concept finalization, design release, design verification, product testing and validation for new products.
  • Responsible for effective coordination with internal stakeholders and CFT members to realize the above.
  • Responsible for extending technical support for continuous improvement initiatives such as Value Engineering, Product performance improvement, standardization, localization etc.
  • Responsible for supporting product line managers in current product sustenance and change management. (ECR/ECN process)
  • Responsible for executing the design process as per ISO standard.
  • Responsible for on time submission of engineering documents to internal stakeholders (as per department guidelines) and to resolve technical conflicts if any with the respective stakeholders. (such as Production, Supply chain etc.)
  • To review bill of materials and execute on-time BOM release without errors. (as per dept target guidelines)

 

Basic Qualification:

  • B.E (Mechanical)

Key competencies:

  • Proficiency in CAD, CAE and other machine design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ansys, MIT-CALC etc.
  • Practical & Working knowledge of GD&T and application to engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in making and checking engineering drawings (such as castings, fabrications, weldments and machined parts)
  • Proficiency in technical issue identification and problem issue/ resolution techniques (RCA, why-why, 8D etc.)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (such as API) and best practices. (preferable)
  • Basic Knowledge of fundamentals of machine component design calculations and selection (preferably in pump industry)
  • Basic Knowledge of design techniques such as DFMEA, DFM/A and DOE.
  • Basic knowledge of New product introduction gate process and current product ECR/ECN change management process.
  • Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics and fluid power components (preferable)
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Good collaborative and interpersonal skills.
