Our Hoffman Lamson Division of Ingersoll Rand is looking for Proposal Engineer to join the team.

Job Summary

As an Proposal Engineer, will be responsible for preparing techno‑commercial proposals for industrial blower systems in response to customer inquiries and RFQs. The role involves technical evaluation, costing, coordination with sales, engineering, procurement, and ensuring proposals are competitive, accurate, and aligned with customer specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Proposal Preparation

  • Interact with Team leads/Sales Team on Project discussions and provide updates on daily basis on quote activity and bid status.
  • Review customer specifications, tender documents, drawings, and process criteria to ensure proposal compliance and alignment with engineered solutions.
  • Select appropriate blower types (Multistage Centrifugal, Positive Displacement and High-speed Turbo blower technologies) based on process requirements.
  • Perform basic technical calculations related to airflow, pressure, power, efficiency, and material selection.
  • Prepare technical documents including:
    • Technical datasheets
    • GA drawings (coordination with design team)
    • Compliance / deviation statements
    • Scope of supply and exclusions
  • Coordinate technical clarifications with internal engineering teams, vendors, and sales groups to improve proposal accuracy and reduce risk.

Additional Technical & Design Responsibilities

  • Evaluate inquiries and applications for Hoffman Lamson blowers, accessories, controls, and services to meet engineering and owner specifications.
  •  Provide technical support to Project Management after handoff, including clarification, submittal review, and issue resolution.
  • Obtain supplier quotes for motors, valves, controls, expansion joints, and related equipment required to complete competitive blower packages.
  • Maintain strong documentation habits including proposal versioning, technical records, and calculation files.
  • Provide design‑based insights into wastewater and aeration processes (ASP, MBBR, SBR, MBR preferred) to strengthen the quality of ASE proposals.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years in applications or inside technical sales for engineered equipment.
  • Experience with Multistage Centrifugal, Positive Displacement and High speed Turbo blower technologies preferred.
  • Wastewater or similar engineered equipment industries preferred.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (or international equivalent).
  • Ability to learn estimating tools, compressor/blower selection software, and internal configuration tools.
  • SAP/ERP, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce/CRM experience preferred.
