Job Summary

 The Store Incharge is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials. The role ensures proper stock management, minimizes losses, and supports uninterrupted production or sales through effective store control.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records
  • Monitor stock movement (inward/outward) and update systems regularly
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation
  • Ensure minimum/maximum stock levels are maintained

2. Store Operations

  • Supervise receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and arrangement of materials
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the store
  • Implement FIFO / FEFO (First In First Out / First Expiry First Out) practices

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain all store-related documentation (GRN, issue slips, stock registers)
  • Generate daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports
  • Coordinate with accounts for reconciliation and audits
  • Track and report slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock

4. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams
  • Ensure timely material issue for operations or dispatch
  • Communicate stock shortages and reorder requirements
  • Support internal and external audits

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain safety standards within the store premises
  • Prevent pilferage, damage, or stock loss

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems / inventory software (e.g., SAP, Tally)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word)
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Problem-solving ability

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate / Diploma in any discipline (Logistics/Store Management preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in store or warehouse operations
  • Experience in manufacturing / retail / supply chain is an advantage
